As a Platform Systems Engineer (f/m/d), you will be responsible for the administration, operation, and optimization of the organization’s global platform and operating system environments. This includes Windows Server infrastructures, Cloud services, and enterprise applications. You will collaborate closely with Senior Engineers and other IT teams to ensure systems are secure, stable, and performing at their best.
You will be part of the Distributed Systems Group (DSG) within the Business Infrastructure team, responsible for:

• Datacentre Compute and Storage: enterprise compute, storage, and virtualisation
• Platform: operating systems, Cloud SaaS, and automation (ansibel, terraform etc.)

• Operate, monitor, and maintain platform and systems environments in line with organizational policies
• Respond to incidents, resolve issues, and escalate to Senior Engineers as necessary
• Support IT projects and ensure platform-related deliverables are completed on time
• Provide technical guidance to IT teams on Platform and Cloud matters
• Proactively monitor and optimize system performance and availability
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date technical documentation
• Assist with hardware and software lifecycle management to prevent end-of-life risks
• Implement automation processes to increase operational efficiency
• Participate in on-call rotations, including off-hours and weekends, and support datacenter visits
• Collaborate across IT teams and regions to ensure operational excellence

• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server and Desktop Operating Systems
• Experience with Microsoft systems management technologies (SCOM, SCCM)
• Deep understanding of Active Directory environments, including replication, authentication protocols, and Group Policy
• Familiarity with Cloud/SaaS technologies, especially Microsoft Azure
• Understanding of IP networking, infrastructure protocols, and security (IPv4, DNS, DHCP, PXE, Load Balancing, Firewalls)
• Experience with scripting/automation (e.g., PowerShell)
• Knowledge of virtualized computing environments and modern enterprise datacenter technologies
• Experience working in process-driven, change-controlled environments
• ITIL Foundation or equivalent service management knowledge
• Proactive, detail-oriented, collaborative, and able to work under pressure in a multicultural environment
• Fluent English required; knowledge of German is a plus
